Martha’s lifelong love of English literature and language arts (she wrote her undergraduate Honors thesis on Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well!) drives her desire to assist students in developing solid reading comprehension skills, no matter the genre of writing.  Having written from both an academic and artistic perspective, Martha’s solid background in grammar and fundamentals of composition is combined with a deep appreciation for the written word.  She guides students to develop writing that is clear and structured, and always strives to make the lessons enjoyable.

The daughter of Sandy and Judy Mendenhall (first female Mayor of High Point!), Martha was born and raised in High Point and graduated from High Point Central High School.  She has raised children of her own and currently lives in Winston-Salem, NC.
